is a non-profit NGO, dedicated to aid children in distress. It was founded and is being managed by a group of women, who volunteer their time and efforts with the utmost devotion and dedication.

Lilach operates under the supervision of the Registrar for NGOs at the Interior Ministry and files annual audited financial reports.
General Information

Lilach operates 7 Day Care Centers for children who were identified by Tel Aviv municipality Social Services Department as children who live in distress, due to family, social and economical circumstances.

Approximately 120 children, ranging from 3 to 12 years old, attend the centers, that are located in neighborhoods of poor economical background, in  the Tel Aviv area.

The Centers are open almost all year round, also during most of the school holidays. On school days the Centers operate from 13:00 onwards, and during school breaks they operate from 08:00 until 13:30, providing  the children and their families a solution for the time the children do not attend the public educational system.

Each Centre employs a coordinator (teacher), assistant (some of are volunteers), a cook, a part time social worker, and part-time volunteers from various social aid programs (students and others).

Weekly staff meetings are held to monitor the progress of each child and to adjust the program to his individual needs. The Lilach volunteers closely monitor the operation of the Centers, and hold periodic meetings with the staff intended for review and forward planning.

The Day Care Centers goal is to create a warm, supportive, secure, home-like environment for after school hours. Children who would otherwise most likely roam the streets and be prone to mischief enjoy:

    * Personal attention
    * Nourishing and tasty meals
    * Help with school tasks and tutoring
    * Friendship
    * Fun and educational games
    * Trips and other outdoor, educational  activities (plays, films, museums, sports, picnics etc)
    * Parent-child activities

The Day Care  Centre staff focuses of developing the potential of each child and foster positive attitudes to social  and human values, help the child cope with problems at home and school,  and improve parent-child relationship.

The Centers enables families, who struggle financially (mostly single-parent families) to better cope with their careers and personal needs, and so the benefit of the family as a whole.

All of Lilach's efforts and the existence of this endeavor depends solely on the donation of funds, that must be raised every year to ensure the continuous operation of the Day Care Centers. None of the volunteers that work in the management level and struggle to raise the funds receive any benefits for their hard work, and salaries are paid only to the employees who operate and work in the Centers daily.
